Meet Charmaine – our fun-loving and passionate paediatric occupational therapist at BillyLids Therapy! Charmaine joined the team in January 2025, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a heart full of care for kids and their families. Originally from Cebu, Philippines, she made the move to Brisbane in 2022 to continue her journey in helping children thrive.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Velez College (2017), Charmaine’s career has taken her through a variety of settings – from school-based therapy helping students with developmental delays, to hospital work in neurorehab, cardiac rehab, and NICU. She’s also spent nearly three years specialising in paediatric therapy, working with children under 10, including those with Autism, ADHD, Downs Syndrome, and learning disorders.
Charmaine’s community work in Brisbane has expanded her expertise, as she provided functional capacity assessments, assistive technology solutions, and OT interventions across a wide age range, including mental health clients. She also served as a mentor, supporting new grads and OT students in their own professional growth.
What really drives Charmaine is her love for working with kids and their families, always striving to make therapy fun and engaging. She believes in a child-centred approach and is always finding new ways to keep her sessions exciting and meaningful.
When she’s not working her magic with kids, you can find Charmaine soaking up the sun at the beach with a good book, exploring new hiking trails, or video calling her dog, Zuri, back home.
